Jourdan Jones, PT Tech

I was born and raised in Pasadena, MD and have been active in Lake Shore and CYLA Sports my whole life. I am a Chesapeake High School Alumni and attended Longwood University in Farmville, VA where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science. I was a student-athlete at Longwood playing lacrosse at the Division I level.
My whole childhood revolved around sports. I have played numerous sports through youth leagues and high school. While in high school I played field hockey, basketball, indoor track, and lacrosse. I fell in love with lacrosse since I started playing in 2001 (yes, I was 4 years old). Even being a retired athlete I can’t get away from the game! I coach the JV Girls Lacrosse team at Chesapeake High School under my dad, Sonny and coach alongside him for a travel team called PAC Storm.
When I’m not at Atlas or coaching lacrosse I can probably be found in Virginia where my boyfriend is from doing anything outdoors. Fishing, hiking, biking, hunting, exercising, you name it! So far my favorite hiking/biking trail is High Bridge Trail in Farmville, VA!
I knew when I committed to Longwood my junior year of high school that I wanted to study Exercise Science. I knew I wanted to go into the therapy realm but wasn’t sure if I wanted to take the PT or OT route. During the summer of 2019 I completed at 400-hour internship at Camp Easter Seals UCP in Salem, VA. This is a camp for children and adults with special needs. I absolutely LOVED it! I got to meet so many amazing people and talk to people in the field about the ups and downs of working in the therapy world. When I graduated from Longwood I came home and decided that I wanted to see firsthand what working in outpatient physical therapy is really like! So I applied to Atlas! I love it here and maybe one day I’ll have a business card with “Dr” in front of my name!
