Erika Cummins, PT Tech

I was born and raised in Baltimore, MD.  I currently live in Odenton, MD with my parents, two younger sisters and one younger brother.  I am currently attending Anne Arundel Community College as a sophomore to get my Associates in Nursing.  My goal is to attend the University of Maryland and get a Bachelors of Nursing.
I want to use my nursing degree to become a pediatric psychiatric nurse.  I have a deep passion for helping others and care a lot about mental health.  I believe that the greatest thing someone can do with their time is to help other people.  I have previously worked in a daycare before and helping kids to grow both mentally and physically is so enjoyable. It is what sparked my desire to become a pediatric psychiatric nurse. While nursing is my career goal, I chose to work in a physical therapy office because the mind and body are one which means that physical health and mental health are equally important. Working at Atlas has brought me so much joy. I love working with the patients and witnessing their recovery first hand. I also love being part of the Atlas Family. Everyone has a common goal to help those in need and being able to be a part of something so great supports my inspirations.
My family means everything to me and we spend quite a bit of time together. Camping trips and beach vacations are two of our favorite past times. I started to go camping with my family in a small resort in Spotsylvania Virginia before I could even walk and we’ve been going every year since. While we’ve visited several beaches, my personal favorites are the ones in Cancun. The water is so warm and crystal clear. I dream of the day when we can make it back there! I have two cats named Buddy and Trouble that are also part of my family. While I didn’t get to name them, the live up to their names.
Now that you know a little bit about me I look forward to working with you to help you feel better!
