Dr. Sam Essy Glen Burnie, MD

Dr. Sam Essy, PT, DPT

I was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota but grew up in State College, Pennsylvania better known as Happy Valley home of the Penn State Nittany Lions. After Graduating from State College Area High School in 2008 I attended Penn State University. My passion for human physiology and exercise science lead me to pursue a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Kinesiology, which I obtained in 2012. I took two years off before starting graduate school working as a physical therapist aide as well as a bartender in the evenings.

I began graduate school in Philadelphia at Thomas Jefferson University in 2014. This was my first time living far from home and in a big city, the experience was both overwhelming and exciting. I graduated in May 2017 with my Doctorate in Physical Therapy and became a licensed therapist in August 2017. During my time at Thomas Jefferson University I had a passion for orthopedic conditions, low back pain, as well as manual techniques which I was able to further pursue during my clinical rotations.

My interests outside of Physical Therapy include cooking, sports, and anything outdoors from hiking to hunting and fishing. I am new to the Baltimore area and looking forward to experience all that it has to offer. I am thrilled to start my career with Atlas Physical Therapy and grow both as a professional and an individual.
